Spinato’s Pizzeria teams up with The Wizard of Za and BRI

Spinato’s Pizzeria & Family Kitchen is teaming up with Arizona’s popular pizza and beer influencer The Wizard of Za and The Beer Research Institute to create a special pairing for patrons during the month of September.
The “WOZ-Inspired Pizza” will be introduced to the public during a special “Happy Hour” event from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at Spinato’s Tempe, 96 S. Rockford Drive.
The launch party will feature several raffles and prize giveaways, including a pizza party. Guests will also have a chance to meet The Wizard of Za, the brewers of BRI and the Spinato family, according to a press release.
Ken Spinato, owner and patriarch of Spinato’s, says this is the first time the restaurant has collaborated with an influencer to create a pizza and beer pairing.
“The Wizard of Za has become a go-to-guide for the best local pizza and beer experiences in Arizona,” he said in the release. “We’re excited to introduce this signature Za along with a special beer made specially to complement the flavors by one of our favorite local breweries, The Beer Research Institute.”

The “WOZ-Inspired Pizza” is an old Chicago style, tavern-cut pizza with Spinato’s secret sweet sauce, Italian beef, sweet peppers, hot giardiniera and red onion. The pizza is paired with a fire and rice light lager.
The BRI craft beer is created with an experimental hop called Altus, which features a spicy tangerine note to it. A large “WOZ-Inspired Pizza” costs $28.50 and a pint of the special BRI craft beer is $7.
The limited time special will be available at all Spinato’s locations through the month of September. Spinato’s will also be giving away special glassware on Sept. 2 while supplies last.
Guests can also take advantage of regular promotions, including a “Cork & Board” special every Tuesday night featuring a small one-topping pizza and a bottle of house wine for $25. Spinato’s Pizzeria’s popular “Wine Wednesdays” also continues weekly at all locations offering half off all bottles all night and at some locations live music.
