The SkillBridge Program is committed to helping employers leverage the potential veteran employees bring to the table. Thousands of active-duty service members are stationed across Arizona, carrying with them valuable skills and experience.
This initiative of the Department of Defense, in association with the Arizona Coalition for Military Families allows service members within six months of separation to intern, apprentice, or certify with approved civilian employers while still receiving full military pay and benefits, according to a press release.
The Arizona Coalition of Military Families provides a dedicated coordinator and a memorandum of understanding between active-duty military installations and state entities.
“We’re thrilled to introduce the ‘Veteran Hiring Success’ event, showcasing our commitment to empowering veterans and businesses alike.” said Erika Acorn, Scottsdale chamber membership director and staff liaison to the VMAC Committee. “This initiative embodies our dedication to creating impactful connections that enrich both our workforce and community.”
