Scottsdale Bible Church has announced the promotion of teaching pastor Rustin Rossello to senior pastor following a national search and a period of leadership review.
The church’s Elder Board unanimously recommended Mr. Rossello for the role, a decision later affirmed by the congregation.
Mr. Rossello has served the Scottsdale Bible Church community for nearly two decades in multiple roles, most recently as teaching pastor. During that time, he has been responsible for preaching, leadership development and congregational engagement.
“We believe Rustin is uniquely gifted and called to lead our church family in this season,” Andy Everroad, chairman of the Elder Board, said. “His passion for the gospel, his heart for discipleship, and his proven leadership make him a natural and Spirit‑led choice to step into this role.”
Mr. Rossello succeeds Jamie Rasmussen, who served as senior pastor for 18 years. Under Mr. Rasmussen’s leadership, the church expanded from one to five campuses, with a Tempe location scheduled to open in May, and saw attendance more than double. Mr. Rasmussen will continue serving the church as pastor at large, with a focus on theological fidelity.
Founded nearly 65 years ago, Scottsdale Bible Church has emphasized biblical teaching, community engagement and outreach efforts locally and abroad.
A commissioning service for Mr. Rossello will be held March 8 during Sunday services across the church’s four campuses and broadcast to each location. The event is open to the community.
