The Phoenix 2030 Club is hosting a Back-to-School Shopping Drive aimed at providing a meaningful start to the school year for underprivileged children in the Phoenix community.

This event is from 7 to 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Kohls, 17232 N. 19th Ave.

The Phoenix 2030 Club, a group of community leaders and philanthropists, has organized this initiative to support 170 deserving children from Boys and Girls Clubs and UMOM, organizations committed to nurturing and empowering the youth in need. The event’s primary focus is to equip these children with essential school supplies and clothing, ensuring they are well-prepared and confident as they embark on the new academic year

“We believe that every child deserves a strong start in education, regardless of their background or circumstances,” said Brandon Shipman, president of the Phoenix 2030 Club, in a prepared statement. “Our Back to School Shopping Drive is a way for us to come together as a community and provide these children with the tools they need to succeed in school and beyond.”

During the event, each child will be paired with a volunteer from the Phoenix 2030 Club, who will accompany them on a back-to-school shopping spree within the Kohls store.

The Phoenix 2030 Club encourages donations and sponsorships are welcomed to help ensure the success of this event and provide additional resources to the children.

“We are excited to work alongside our community partners to make this Back to School Shopping Drive a memorable and impactful event for these children,” Mr. Shipman said. “Together, we can make a real difference in their lives.”
