Advance Community, a Phoenix-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization seeking to help under-served Latino communities across the Valley, has received a grant from the Diane & Bruce Halle Foundation to support Maggie’s Place Health and Wellness Program.

This two-year program is expected to launch in July 2023 and will open doors to exciting new opportunities for the organization and the communities it serves. Advance’s collaboration with Maggie’s Place, a provider of safe housing and support services for homeless pregnant women, strengthens the organization’s vision of health equity for everyone.

Of note: Details of the grant amount were not provided to the Arizona Digital Free Press.

“We are thrilled to be working with such an important community partner like Maggie’s Place,” said President & CEO Jeri Royce in a prepared statement. “Health and wellness initiatives are at the forefront of our mission and the generous support from the Halle Foundation will allow us to continue to drive that mission forward.”

The funding provides new opportunities for Advance to expand internally as well, with Royce having plans to introduce a new staff member to the team to oversee the program.

“Advance celebrates every new possibility for strengthening our staff and volunteers,” continued Royce. “The Halle Foundation funding provided for this project not only supports the expansion of our programs to organizations like Maggie’s Place but affords us the opportunity to bring Simonne Campos to join us in our mission as our newest program coordinator/community health educator.”

Ms. Campos is an Arizona State University graduate dedicated to creating positive change and achieving health equity through collaborations with the community.

“I am thrilled to be joining Advance as they expand their programs at Maggie’s Place,” says Ms. Campos. “I look forward to being a part of Advance’s mission to advocate for under-resourced communities.”

The funding from the Halle Foundation is helping set the tone for Advance’s future in creating thriving communities and healthy lives in Arizona and across the globe.
