Grimaldi’s Pizzeria is gearing up to commemorate its 20th anniversary of expanding coal-fired, brick oven pizza outside of New York with celebrations that began this month at Arizona locations and will continue throughout 2023 in 11 states.
Grimaldi’s Pizzeria opened its first location outside of New York at 4000 N. Scottsdale Road on Feb. 14, 2003, according to a press release.
The Old Town Scottsdale remains one of Grimaldi’s busiest locations nationwide, representatives of the brand report.
Since the expansion to Scottsdale, Grimaldi’s has opened more than 40 locations in 11 different states, including multiple locations in Texas, Nevada and Florida.
“We are thrilled to have reached this incredible milestone thanks to the support of our guests, team members and partners,” said Grimaldi’s Pizzeria CEO Joseph Ciolli, in a prepared statement. “We are looking forward to celebrating throughout our anniversary year, and to continue expanding into new neighborhoods to share our signature pizzas, calzones, cocktails and cheesecakes.”
In honor of its anniversary, Grimaldi’s is excited to launch the new ‘Garden Ranch Salad,’ which is a bed of romaine lettuce topped with oven roasted sweet red peppers, red onions, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, coal-oven baked croutons and ranch dressing. Throughout the year, Grimaldi’s will continue to release new menu additions that will pay homage to its New York City roots.
Of note: there may be a specialty anniversary cheesecake coming soon!
Along with the new menu items, Grimaldi’s will have monthly giveaways throughout 2023.
Grimaldi’s plans on pursuing opportunities to serve more communities, which includes opening two more Texas locations and a restaurant in Kansas this year. There will be many more announcements throughout 2023, including the new seasonal menu launching on March 7.
