To increase awareness of the important role that mouth guards play in sports safety and to ensure access to affordable, high-quality mouth guards, Delta Dental of Arizona is launching its first retail mouth guards to protect athletes of all ages and levels.
The Delta Dental Athletic Mouth Guard is designed to protect athletes with twice the impact absorption of traditional mouth guards, representatives of Delta Dental Arizona tell the Digital Free Press.
The product from Delta Dental has a patented fitting material that makes speaking, drinking and breathing easier while providing a remoldable, braces-friendly fit. Additionally, the Delta Dental Athletic Mouth Guard is an ADA accepted product, which means it has demonstrated safety and efficiency in alignment with ADA requirements, according to a press release.
“As a company dedicated to protecting the health and well-being of Arizonans with a strong history of promoting optimal oral health, launching this program to make quality mouth guards available at an affordable price to athletes young and old is a home run,” said Dr. Heather Schneider, dental director of Delta Dental of Arizona, in a prepared statement.
“Dentists see far too many sports injuries to the mouth and jaw that could be prevented by wearing a properly fitted mouth guard when playing any sport with a bat, ball or stick—not just the high-contact sports, like football, that most people think of. Plus, there is no more fitting time to launch this exciting program than right before fall sports season!”
Delta Dental of Arizona is partnering with the Arizona Interscholastic Association to provide 120 mouth guards to high school girls’ flag football participants at an upcoming sports combine in Scottsdale August 3. This collaboration underscores their commitment to promoting oral health and safety among young athletes.
