Sun Health is closing its Resale Boutique at 9843 W. Bell Road in Campana Square Shopping Center, effective July 31.

The other location, in Sun City West, will remain open, representatives tell the Digital Free Press.

The Sun City Resale Boutique first opened its doors in 1984 and, since then, has been a vital part of the community. Operated by what was originally called the Sun Health Auxiliary, the boutique not only offered unique shopping experiences but also played a crucial role in fundraising efforts for Sun Health Foundation.

The two Sun Health shops have collectively raised over $9 million to support initiatives for patient care, landmark research and health and wellness programs, enriching the lives of countless individuals and families in the West Valley.

Unfortunately, due to the rising costs of rent and operations, the nonprofit has decided to close the Sun City location and consolidate to one location in Sun City West.

“As we prepare to close the doors at this location, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to the Sun City community and the dedicated volunteers whose tireless efforts have made a lasting impact,” said Sharon Orlopp, chair of the Sun Health Foundation Board of Trustees. “In 2023 alone, nearly 60,000 customers visited the two stores, and a remarkable team of 120 volunteers contributed 16,493 hours of service. The dedication and generosity of our volunteers have been the backbone of the resale’s stores’ success, and we are immensely thankful for every hour of service given.”

While the West Valley says goodbye to the Resale Boutique in Sun City, the Sun City West Resale Shop remains open and will continue to serve the community with the same dedication and spirit.

“As we move forward, Sun Health remains committed to our mission of promoting healthy living and supporting the well-being of our community,” said Nora Hannah, Sun Health chief engagement officer.

“We are excited about the future and look forward to continuing our work with the invaluable support of our community and volunteers. Thank you to each person who has supported the Resale Boutique in Sun City through purchases, donations, and volunteer efforts. Your support has made a meaningful difference in the lives of many and has helped shape our community for the better.”
