Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix has earned its fifth consecutive Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the Commission on Magnet.
The recognition is considered the gold standard for nursing excellence and is awarded to healthcare organizations that demonstrate outstanding nursing practice, patient care and leadership, according to a press release.
Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix joins fewer than 1% of Magnet-designated facilities worldwide to achieve a fifth designation.
“When patients choose us, they choose a healthcare partner committed to the highest standards of clinical excellence,” said Daniel Post, chief executive officer of Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix. “This Magnet designation means our patients can trust they’re receiving care from some of the most skilled and dedicated nursing professionals in the country.”
The designation process includes comprehensive documentation and on-site evaluation. Banner was recognized for innovative patient care, evidence-based practice, nurse-physician collaboration and workplace violence prevention — factors that impact patient safety and care quality.
“Our patients deserve nothing less than exceptional nursing care, and this Magnet designation validates that we’re delivering on that promise,” Mr. Post said. “When families entrust us with their health, they can be confident they’re receiving care that meets national standards.”
Other Banner Health facilities with Magnet designation include Banner Gateway Medical Center and Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Gilbert, Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix, and Banner – University Medical Center Tucson.
