Ballet Arizona’s Junior Board, Contemporary Council, will host Mix and Move: A Social Dance Fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Creative Dance Collective in Mesa. Proceeds from the event will support Ballet Arizona’s mission to inspire and engage the community through dance.
The fundraiser will feature guided salsa, country swing and Latin hustle lessons led by ballroom dance professionals from Creative Dance Collective. Guests will also be able to enjoy food, participate in a photo booth experience and take part in open social dancing throughout the evening. The event is open to guests age 21 and older, according to a press release.
“Guests won’t just watch the action, they will be invited onto the dance floor to feel the magic firsthand while learning different social dances in a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere where everyone can connect through movement,” said Erin Lovrien, Contemporary Council chair.
A silent auction will also be part of the event and will be hosted online, allowing participation from individuals who are unable to attend in person. In recognition of Ballet Arizona’s 40th anniversary season, the auction will include walk-on roles in upcoming productions, the opportunity to serve as a guest conductor at “The Nutcracker” and other special experiences connected to the organization. Additional auction items will include products, services and experiences donated by local businesses and community partners.
Mix and Move will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Creative Dance Collective in Mesa. Dancing begins at 6:30 p.m., and the online silent auction closes at 8:30 p.m. General admission tickets are $100, and VIP tickets are $215. A limited number of tickets will be available.
VIP ticket holders will receive early entry, access to a private lounge, a gift bag and the opportunity to dance with a ballroom professional.
Members of Ballet Barre, Ballet Arizona’s community for arts supporters age 45 and younger, will receive $50 off an individual general admission or VIP ticket. The discount is available to both current and new Ballet Barre members.
