Take Flight 2025, a live art display and fundraiser, returns April 6 at the Shemer Art Center.
Presented by Phoenix Rotary 100, this annual art auction is aimed at raising funds for charities benefiting youth and people experiencing homelessness. A portion of proceeds will also benefit the Shemer Art Center, according to a press release.
Take Flight will feature more than 50 metal butterfly sculptures ranging in size from 12”, 30”, and 40,” the release states.
These butterflies will be on display starting on April 4 at the Shemer Art Center and available for purchase through an online auction from March 6 through April 6 during the Take Flight 2025 bidders’ reception from noon to 3 p.m. on the 6th of April.
In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a raffle on April 6 at the reception for several themed prizes. These include framed butterflies and guest entry donated by Butterfly Wonderland, framed photography, a hot air balloon ride, and more.
Phoenix Rotary 100 has teamed up with more than 40 local artists who creatively transformed blank metal canvases into artwork that represents the community initiative. “Arizona is home to many talented artists that we are honored to partner with for the 2025 Take Flight fundraiser,” said Daniel Capote, chairperson and club president of the Phoenix Rotary 100. “We are excited to showcase their artistry and unique creations while also symbolizing our organization’s commitment to transforming lives through art.”
In addition to the art auction and display at the Shemer Art Center, Arizonans can get a sneak peek look at a couple of butterflies with pop-ups throughout the Valley. These butterflies are now on display at Market Street at DC Ranch, Butterfly Wonderland, multiple independent galleries, retail businesses, and sponsor business locations.
“We hope everyone will join us in making a lasting impact on homelessness and youth development,” said Lisa Henning, co-chairperson and board member of Phoenix Rotary 100. “Let’s take flight together and be the change we wish to see in our community.”
