The Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board unanimously approved a resolution May 12 calling for a special bond election to appear on the Nov. 3, 2026, ballot.
If approved by voters, the proposed $375 million bond program would fund capital improvements across the district, including school facility renovations, learning environment enhancements, technology upgrades, safety and security improvements, transportation replacements and other infrastructure needs that support students and staff throughout Scottsdale Unified.
The district’s previous bond program was approved by voters in 2016 and has been substantially utilized to address districtwide capital priorities, according to a press release.
“This proposed bond represents an investment in the future of Scottsdale Unified students,” Governing Board President Donna Lewis said. “The plan focuses on maintaining and modernizing our schools, supporting safe learning environments, enhancing instructional technology, and ensuring our facilities continue to meet the needs of students for years to come.”
The proposed bond program includes investments in:
- Learning environment improvements
- Technology enhancements
- Site lifecycle renovations
- School safety and security enhancements
- Transportation updates
- Administrative capital improvements
Bond funds may only be used for voter-approved capital projects and cannot be used for teacher salaries, employee benefits or day-to-day operating expenses.
