Juliet S. Burgess, founding partner of The Burgess Law Group, has been appointed to the Ladies of the Court Women’s Board of the Sandra Day O’Connor Institute for American Democracy.

The Ladies of the Court serves as the women’s auxiliary board for the institute and supports its mission of advancing civics education, civic engagement and civil discourse through programs inspired by the legacy of the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, according to a press release. The board also hosts the annual Legacy Luncheon, which raises funds for the institute’s educational initiatives.

“It is a true privilege to join the Ladies of the Court and support a foundation that does such critical work for civil discourse and education,” Ms, Burgess said. “Justice O’Connor was a trailblazer who inspired countless women in the legal profession. I look forward to collaborating with the board to expand that legacy and empower the next generation of civic leaders.”

Ms. Burgess brings more than 20 years of legal experience to the role. A labor and employment and business litigation attorney, she has been recognized by several professional and business organizations, including being named an Outstanding Woman in Business by the Phoenix Business Journal.

She has also served in leadership roles with several Arizona nonprofit and professional organizations, including the Arizona Women Lawyers Association, Friends of the Phoenix Public Library and the Arizona Foundation for Women.
