Eagle Scout Connor Carlson earns NESA scholarship

Connor Carlson recognized nationally for his dedication to Scouting

Connor Carlson, an Eagle Scout in the Grand Canyon Council has been awarded the Lawrence S. and Mabel Cooke National Eagle Scout Association Scholarship.

NESA scholarships are awarded to Eagle Scouts who have shown active participation in school, Scouting and their community, according to a press release.

As the recipient of the 2024 NESA Scholarship, Mr. Carlson will receive $25,000 over four years. Mr. Carlson was one of four recipients selected for this tier of the NESA Scholarship.

Mr. Carlson is from Phoenix and grew up in a family that embodies Scouting mission and values as his father and his two younger brothers all achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. Notably, Mr. Carlson earned his Eagle Scout award at the young age of 14.

“Scouting has pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me realize that challenging myself opens up opportunities I wouldn’t have otherwise experienced,” Mr. Carlson said. “This scholarship will allow me to focus on my studies and future success without worrying about financial burdens.”

Mr. Carlson plans to attend Arizona State University in the Fall of 2024, pursuing a degree in engineering.
