Top wiffle ball talent from across the nation will take the field at Scottsdale Stadium this fall for the sixth annual installment of Big League Wiffle Ball’s Western Wiffle Ball Classic.

Taking place at the springtime home of the San Francisco Giants, this year’s Classic promises intense match-ups, fan-favorite teams and some of the fastest wiffle ball pitchers in the nation as they compete for the Western Wiffle Ball Classic trophy.

Set for 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7408 E Osborn Road, Scottsdale, this year’s classic will continue to shine a spotlight on the league founded in 2020 by then-16-year-old Logan Rose as a way to encourage outdoor and physical activity during the pandemic.

The league has since grown substantially in size and scope and continues to draw both top wiffle ball players from across the United States and enthusiastic crowds to cheer them on. Last year, Big League Wiffle Ball’s Final Four took place under the dome at AT&T Stadium (the home of the Dallas Cowboys).

“When we launched this league, we wanted to give people something to look forward to and a way to stay active during an uncertain time,” Mr. Rose said in a prepared statement. “Now, it’s grown into one of the most exciting and best-attended amateur sporting events in the United States, and the Western Wiffle Ball Classic is where you can see it all come to life.”

Teams playing in the Western Wiffle Ball Classic have between three and five players and register to compete in either Recreational or Competitive divisions, with strike zone dimensions, pitching distances and eligible equipment among the key differences between them. The top team in each division then walks away with championship honors and a permanent place in Western Wiffle Ball Classic history.

In addition to the tournament itself, this year’s Western Wiffle Ball Classic will also include a Home Run Derby, giving players a chance to showcase their power at the plate as they compete for a separate trophy.
