Western Spirit offers discounted prices in Old Town Scottsdale as summer ends

Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West is offering a special promotional sale to welcome visitors back during the last days of summer — just as school starts back up.
For the next two weekends of August, guests can explore the rich heritage and artistry of the American West at half the usual ticket price.
This “Cool Frontier” sale runs on Aug. 23-25, and Aug. 30-Sept. 1 (note: the museum is closed on Labor Day).
All prices on The Cool Frontier’s End of Summer Western Weekends have been reduced by 50%. Rates listed on applicable dates have already been discounted. Exhibitions and attractions include:
- Dog Days of Summer: Celebrate a new exhibition of work by Western painter and sculptor Veryl Goodnight, the spirit and strength of sled dogs. Sled Dogs in America: Alaska & Beyond. This exhibition opened in July of 2024.
- Inner Light: The Art of Tom Gilleon: Don’t miss the last two weeks to witness the breathtaking works of this Disney-trained artist. This exhibition closes on Aug. 25.
- Kids in Focus Presents Focus on Western Spirit: Closing on Aug. 25, this second-run popular exhibition by Kids in Focus, a nonprofit organization, showcases unique new perspectives of the West as seen through the eyes of talented local middle school students.
- Western Movies: Enjoy the last two showings of iconic Western films on Sundays at 2 p.m. Free for Members, this series will feature iconic Western films shown on a brand-new state-of-the-art projector system. Movie tickets are priced at $8 each or enjoy the film for free with paid museum admission. Plus, indulge in popcorn and a water bottle for just $2.

Western Spirit features regularly changing exhibits of Western and Native American art and artifacts, entertaining events, and informative programs that bring the West’s heritage, culture, and community to life.
Current special exhibitions are Inner Light: The Art of Tom Gilleon through August 2024; William Matthews: Decades through October 2024; Kids in Focus: Focus on Western Spirit by local youth through August 2024; and Dazzling Array: The Richard A. Gates Collection of Native American Jewelry currently on display.
