Tequila Corrido is introducing Oscar Vazquez Camarena as its new master distiller.
A chemist by trade and a visionary in the tequila world, Mr. Vazquez Camarena brings over a decade of expertise, shaped under the mentorship of some of the industry’s most respected pioneers.
Mr. Vazquez Camerena has experience working on renowned distillery brands such as El Pandillo (G4), Tierra de Ensueño, ENELALMA, and MOSTO, according to a press release.
Mr. Vazquez Camarena follows in the footsteps of Ana María Romero, one of the world’s first female master distillers and the creator of Corrido’s award-winning blends, now available in 11 states including Texas, Arizona, California and more. Her vision and craftsmanship remain the soul of the brand, and Mr. Vazquez Camarena is here to honor that legacy while taking Corrido into uncharted territory.
“I’ve spent my life studying the science and art of tequila, learning from the best in the industry, including my time at Destilería El Pandillo,” Mr. Vazquez Camarena said in a prepared statement.
“I’ve seen firsthand that great tequila isn’t just about what’s in the bottle—it’s about authenticity, respect for tradition, and breaking barriers. Tequila Corrido represents all of that and more. I’m proud to continue Ana María’s legacy while bringing my own vision to this incredible brand. Some call me part of the next generation of master distillers, alongside great friends like Chava Rosales and Sergio Cruz. That’s an honor I don’t take lightly, and I intend to live up to those expectations.”
Made with 100% Blue Weber Agave from the highlands of Jalisco and aged to perfection in a variety of barrels, Tequila Corrido remains additive-free and unapologetically authentic.
