At the Scottsdale Unified School District, the commitment is simple: everything is ‘because kids!’
Annually, SUSD takes the opportunity to express gratitude to its employees for their unwavering dedication to our students and community, officials there tell the Digital Free Press.
Scottsdale Honors Its Own is a beloved SUSD celebration that pays tribute to employees who have been part of the district for five or more years.
This year’s event was held May 2 at the Mohave District Annex to honor those who celebrated decades of service to the public school district.
Remarkably, SUSD can boast of employees who have dedicated more than 40 years to the district, demonstrating their enduring commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of our students.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated and passionate individuals as part of the SUSD family,” said Dr. Scott Menzel, superintendent of the Scottsdale Unified School District.
“Their unwavering commitment and tireless efforts make a profound difference in the lives of our students and schools. From maintaining facilities, to teaching, to transporting and feeding students, there are many people who work together every day to ensure our students’ success.”
In addition to honoring long-serving employees, the event also celebrated the retirement of 79 employees who, collectively, have contributed more than 1,458 years of service to SUSD.
