Scottsdale police on Monday, Dec. 10 arrested 31-year-old George Keith Mosley for multiple counts of child sex trafficking charges as police officials tell the Digital Free Press those charges stem from what originally began as a credit card fraud investigation.
In July 2024, Scottsdale police officers were called to a hotel to investigate alleged fraud involving George Mosley, according to a press release.
While officers were conducting surveillance operations at the hotel, they observed Mr. Mosley departing the premises in the company of a teenage female. Police officers contacted Mr. Mosley, who was subsequently arrested for alleged fraud.
While speaking with the female, who was accompanying Mosley, police officials report they discovered the female was a missing juvenile from another state. Mr. Mosley was subsequently booked and released for credit card fraud. Detectives were notified and helped facilitate the juvenile’s reunion with her family.
Finding Mr. Mosley with the juvenile female prompted further investigation, leading to the uncovering of evidence indicative of potential human trafficking activities. The Scottsdale Police Department’s Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit was promptly engaged to spearhead the investigation.
Scottsdale HEAT officers suspect Mr. Mosely had been engaged in the sex trafficking of the juvenile female in multiple states. Once probable cause was established for child sex trafficking, Mr. Mosley was apprehended by members of the Scottsdale Police Special Assignments Unit earlier this week.
A search warrant was executed at his temporary residence, resulting in the collection of substantial additional evidence.
Ms. Mosely is booked into Maricopa County Jail for a total of 20 felony counts of various Child Sex Trafficking charges, Sexual Conduct with a Minor, Illegal Enterprise, and Money Laundering charges with a juvenile victim.
