MODUS Companies is breaking ground on projects throughout the Valley of the Sun equaling 1,200 units, but the first of these projects will sprout at the Arcadia View Lofts.
Found at 2640 N. 52nd St. in Phoenix, MODUS Companies has partnered with Kinella Construction and HercuTech, to supply a patented “green” wall-building system, to add to the project’s earth-friendly appeal, according to a press release.
“Our work with Kinella and HercuWall will truly give an edge to our Net Zero technology making this development unlike any other,” said founder of MODUS Companies Ed Gorman, in a prepared statement. “Location, design and technology are our three cornerstones, and with that we have been able to also address increasing affordability issues within our communities. For example, utility bills will be a third of the norm.”
The Arcadia View Lofts are designed with a single-family feel and multifamily amenities, two floor-plan options both of which will be featured in the community: One being a two-bedroom loft in a two-story building and another being a one-bedroom in a one-story building, the release states.
This will be the first ever Net Zero Energy multifamily project in Phoenix using HercuWall, a new technology developed at HercuTech combination of which Mr. Gorman and his team have coined “The Tesla of Built-to-Rent.”
HercuWall is a patented steel reinforced concrete insulating form building system engineered for superior strength and durability to wood frames, Hercuwall representatives say.
“HercuTech is proud to partner with MODUS Companies and build sustainable, healthy housing with our innovative and patented HercuWall technology,” said Jason Rhees, CEO of HercuTech.
“Our building system is manufactured sustainably, recycles 100% of scrap foam, produces no onsite waste, decreases the carbon footprint of the project, and results in longer-lasting, energy efficient structure. MODUS’ decision to build with HercuWall is affording residents peace, comfort, and protection that can only come from building better. HercuTech is putting the ‘E’ in ESG.”
