With a total payout of over $1 million, the Kimes Ranch Million Dollar Breakaway event attracts the top female breakaway ropers from across the nation, showcasing exceptional talent and competition all in one place.

Country music rising star Josh Meloy will take the stage Friday night, and Grammy Award-winning artist Ashley McBryde will headline Saturday.

The Million Dollar Breakaway features a 10-round main event held on Nov. 26–30, where the top 10 breakaway ropers in the world standings compete alongside 15 qualifiers for a chance at a historic payout at WestWorld of Scottsdale.

Ropers can qualify for the Kimes Ranch Million Dollar Breakaway through several paths. The first qualifier took place in Scottsdale in December 2024, advancing the first 20 athletes. The next opportunity will be at the Oklahoma’s Richest at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oct.17–19, where 60 competitors will qualify.

A Last Chance Qualifier held at WestWorld of Scottsdale on Nov. 24-25 will add 40 more ropers to the field.

New to this year’s format are two additional qualification paths: the VRQ, awarding 20 spots, and the Riata Stallion Incentive, adding two more. A Buy Back Round and the WRWC Challenger Incentive will complete the field, bringing the total number of semi-finalists to 168 set to compete on Nov. 26 in Scottsdale.

From there, 25 finalists will compete in 10 intense rounds for the Million $ Breakaway titles, Nov. 27–29, 2025. The action-packed week will conclude on Sunday, Nov. 30, with the 2026 First Chance Qualifier.

“This event is about more than just roping, it’s about celebrating Western culture and giving these incredible women the stage they deserve,” said Amanda Kimes, vice president of Kimes Ranch.

“Breakaway ropers are some of the most skilled and hardworking athletes in rodeo, and we felt it was time they had an event that matched their talent and dedication. That’s why we created the Million $ Breakaway, to bring the energy, recognition, and prize money that have long been overdue in this sport. We’re proud to give these women the spotlight and elevate breakaway roping to the level it is due.”
