HomeSmart raised more than $20,000 during its HomeSmart Helps “Agents Helping Agents” Golf Event on Nov. 4 at McCormick Ranch Golf Club in Scottsdale.

The event drew Valley golf enthusiasts, sponsors and real estate professionals to support HomeSmart Helps, the brokerage’s charitable arm and agent assistance fund founded in 2007, according to a press release.

“Supporting the community is central to HomeSmart’s mission, and to be able to provide agents with critical aid — without question or judgment — reinforces our commitment to our agents to be there for them whenever, wherever we are needed,” said Steve Robbins, tournament event director and REALTOR at HomeSmart.

HomeSmart Helps provides unrestricted funding for agents facing hardships, including assistance with utility and medical bills or funeral expenses.

The program also organizes volunteer opportunities benefiting charitable organizations in communities where HomeSmart operates. Aid is available to all 25,000 agents across more than 250 offices nationwide.

“We created HomeSmart Helps in recognition of the fact that agents are independent contractors and lack the same coverage benefits that traditional employees typically have access to,” said Matt Widdows, CEO and founder of HomeSmart.

“Our fund is flexible and exists as that much-needed resource and safety net for when a crisis happens. Thanks to those who came to golf with us on Nov. 4, we can continue to support our valued agent family both here in Arizona and nationwide.”
