Dixxon Flannel is partnering with Make-A-Wish Arizona granting 18-year-old Rico’s wish for a Can-Am.
On Monday, March 17, Dixxon rolled out the red carpet at its warehouse in Tempe for Rico to receive and test drive his new Can-Am.
As part of its mission, Dixxon embraces the motto “Grow to Grow Support” and finds at the core of its belief system that philanthropy and charity are of utmost importance and value, according to a press release.
Rico, a Yuma resident, was diagnosed with a brain tumor when he was 13-years-old.
A lover of off-roading and the Yuma sand dunes, Rico wished for a four-door Can-Am that would give him and his brothers freedom of adventure anytime they chose. Rico described his family as outdoor enthusiasts, or ‘desert rats’ as they like to call themselves, and grew up off-roading near their house on their grandpa’s golf cart.
When the cart broke down five years ago, they could no longer spend quality time together doing their favorite activity. Rico’s wish for a Can-Am was not just for himself but for his whole family to enjoy.
“Since I was a kid, I’ve always dreamed of having a Can-Am. My wish was more than I ever imagined — I was overjoyed; it was truly a dream come true,” said wish kid Rico. “The Dixxon family made my day so special, welcoming me with open arms, giving me a tour, and even treating me to a shopping spree at their store. Their kindness meant the world to me. Thank you, Make-A-Wish Arizona and Dixxon. You will always have a special place in my heart!”
Fran Mallace, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Arizona, says she is grateful for the service provided by Dixxon representatives.
“At Make-A-Wish Arizona, our mission is to uncover each child’s one true wish and bring it to life,” she said. “We are incredibly grateful for community partners like Dixxon Flannel Co., whose generosity helps create lasting wishes—giving Rico and his family the opportunity to make new, joy-filled memories together.”
Dixxon founder Danny Dreyer echoes a similar sentiment.
“Philanthropy is at the core of who we are, and it was an honor to support Make-A-Wish Arizona in granting Rico’s wish,” said Dixxon Founder Danny Dreyer. “We believe in a lifestyle that celebrates freedom, authenticity, and the relentless pursuit of one’s passion. We hope Rico and his family enjoy their time off-roading together once again.”
