Community members are invited to attend the Blue Zones Scottsdale Volunteer Summit from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 28, an event focused on connecting volunteers with local nonprofit organizations.
Hosted in partnership with Scottsdale Community College, the Volunteer Summit will include nonprofit organizations tabling on-site to share current volunteer opportunities, according to a press release.
Attendees can explore one-time and ongoing volunteer roles, learn about the Volunteer Zone, a digital platform that lists volunteer opportunities across the Valley, and take part in presentations and breakout sessions focused on skills-based volunteering.
Research suggests that even brief periods of volunteering may support stress reduction and emotional well-being. The Volunteer Summit encourages residents to engage with organizations working on issues affecting Scottsdale and surrounding communities.
The event also offers nonprofit organizations an opportunity to meet potential volunteers in person and build ongoing relationships. The Volunteer Summit is free and open to the public, and community members, students and families are welcome to attend.
