The Arizona Builders Alliance has signed a lease for a significant space at SkySong, The ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center.

The organization will lease a 20,869-square-foot space in SkySong 1, the first building completed in the transformative development. With this lease, SkySong 1 will be at 95 percent capacity despite a downturn in the overall office market, according to a press release.

The Arizona Builders Alliance stands as a premier association for contractors in Arizona, committed to boosting the success of its 350 member companies and the broader construction sector through initiatives in education, networking, business growth, and advocacy, the release states.

As a collaboration between the Associated Builders & Contractors and the Associated General Contractors of America — Building Chapter, the ABA actively engages in legislative advocacy at both state and national levels.

About 5,300 square feet of the space will be utilized as their corporate office, with the balance being used as educational space for the classes the organization offers, ABA officials tell the Digital Free Press.

Sharon Harper, chairman and CEO of Plaza Companies, the master developer of the project, said this lease is another sign of SkySong’s resilience in a challenging commercial office environment.

“We are pleased to welcome the Arizona Builders Alliance to the SkySong family,” Ms. Harper said. “SkySong continues to defy market trends when it comes to attracting companies and organizations that are seeking a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship in their office environment.”

Plaza Companies is the master developer of SkySong, in partnership with University Realty, the city of Scottsdale and Holualoa Companies.

Kim Davids, president of the Arizona Builders Alliance, said the SkySong space is ideal for the organization as it continues to grow its impact.

“SkySong offers an ideal setting for us to better serve our members with its focus on innovation and collaboration,” Ms. Davids said. “We’re eager to move into our new space and continue supporting our members’ growth and success in this community.”

The new leasing activity brings overall occupancy rate of 95% at SkySong 1, part of a mixed-use project that has consistently led the market in occupancy for the past decade.

Plaza Companies provides development, financing, construction oversight, leasing renewals and expansions and property management at SkySong. The Coppola Cheney Group of Lee & Associates is SkySong’s leasing broker.
