Mr. Pickle’s Sandwich Shop has introduced the Pit Boss, a new sandwich featuring oven-toasted pulled pork, barbecue sauce, coleslaw and pickle chips served on a brioche bun.
The Pit Boss is now available at all eight Mr. Pickle’s locations in Arizona and throughout the brand’s California restaurants, according to a press release.
“Mr. Pickle’s serves a sandwich for every craving, and the Pit Boss brings the hearty comfort and warmth of barbecue to the Mr. Pickle’s menu,” Mike Nelson, CEO of Mr. Pickle’s Sandwich Shop, said. “It’s something guests haven’t seen from us before, but it still feels right at home and unmistakably Mr. Pickle’s.”
The new offering follows the company’s first major menu update since opening in 1995. That effort included reorganizing the menu by protein type and introducing wraps in wheat, spinach and gluten-free options.
More recently, the company added oven-toasted sandwich options, including Chipotle Ranch and Chicken Bacon Ranch varieties. Customers can also order any sandwich as a wrap or in a toasted format.
Mr. Pickle’s also was recognized on Fast Casual’s Top 100 Movers & Shakers list this year, ranking No. 65. The annual list recognizes restaurant brands and executives in the fast-casual industry.
“By introducing pulled pork and brioche, we are taking the brand into new territory without losing the connection to the sandwiches and ingredients that built our following,” Mr. Nelson said. “Our signature menu items have set Mr. Pickle’s apart for three decades, and we’re building on that foundation with ideas that move us forward.”
Based in Scottsdale, Mr. Pickle’s operates more than 60 locations across Arizona and California.
