Tempe Diablos Charities is now accepting applications for its annual grant program, which supports nonprofit organizations making a meaningful impact in the Tempe community.
Local groups focused on education, youth services, health, arts and community development are encouraged to apply. Each year, the Diablos award hundreds of thousands of dollars to organizations that help improve Tempe. In 2024, the group distributed more than $650,000 to over 70 nonprofits, funding scholarships, youth programs, public safety initiatives and family support services.
“This is the heart of why we do what we do,” said Russ Homes, chairman of Tempe Diablos Charities. “Our grants are more than financial support — they’re a way to invest in the people and programs that make Tempe stronger, safer and more connected.”
Required materials include:
*A completed application
*A list of corporations and foundations that contributed $5,000 or more in the previous year, including donation amounts
*The organization’s annual operating budget
*A list of board members, including each member’s primary business or professional affiliation
The grant program reflects the Diablos’ long-standing commitment to community leadership and philanthropy. Since its founding in 1968, the organization has awarded more than $20 million to local nonprofits, schools and service initiatives.
“Every grant we award helps build a better Tempe,” said Vince Vasquez, president of the Tempe Diablos. “We’re proud to support organizations that are creating real change and helping families thrive.”
