Staff Reports | Science & Technology
Abrazo Arrowhead is reporting the arrival of The StealthStation S8 surgical navigation system to its hospital.
This state-of-the-art surgical platform has an intuitive interface, improved patient registration software, and advanced visualization to navigate neurosurgery, spine and brain procedures, according to a press release.
“This cutting-edge technology will empower our surgical teams to deliver even more precise and efficient care to our patients as we grow our spine and neurosurgery capabilities at our hospital,” said Joseph Warburton, COO at Abrazo Arrowhead Campus.
The Stealth navigation system introduces the most advanced version of Stealth technology — a combination of hardware, software, tracking algorithms, image data merging, and specialized instruments to help guide doctors during surgical procedures, Abrazo Health officials say.
The $700,000 StealthStation surgical navigation system will be used for an array of neurosurgery and spine procedures including:
- Biopsy
- Tumor resection
- Catheter placement
- Deep brain stimulation lead placement
- Spine decompression or fusion
- Spinal or pelvic fixation
- Treatment for spinal or sacral trauma
Stealth has an intuitive user interface allowing for better visualization with easier manipulation of 2-D and 3-D views, intuitive layering and blending tools and model building tools to get more out of the data and improve the doctor’s planning process.
“Our commitment to excellence in patient care drives us to continuously invest in advanced medical technologies, and the Stealth Navigation System is a testament to our dedication to providing the highest quality of healthcare for our community,” Mr. Warburton said.
