Scottsdale Water wrapped up its fall 2025 Citizen Water Academy, marking another successful session of the award-winning program that offers residents a behind-the-scenes look at one of the nation’s most advanced municipal water utilities.
Over five weeks, more than 30 participants explored Scottsdale’s water supply, treatment processes and infrastructure through interactive presentations, facility tours — including the Advanced Water Treatment Plant — and hands-on demonstrations with Scottsdale Water experts.
The Citizen Water Academy is designed to foster public understanding and appreciation for the complex systems and dedicated professionals who ensure Scottsdale’s water remains safe, reliable and sustainable.
Attendees gained firsthand insight into the city’s leadership in water innovation, conservation and long-term planning.
“Scottsdale Water is proud to offer this opportunity for our community to see how seriously we take our responsibility to deliver exceptional water service,” said Kira Peters, interim senior director of Scottsdale Water. “Our goal is to help residents understand not just where their water comes from, but the science, technology and teamwork behind every drop.”
