In a city where summer temperatures hover somewhere between “preheat” and “melt,” staying hydrated is less of a lifestyle choice and more of a survival tactic.
That’s why Prime IV Hydration & Wellness – Red Mountain has teamed up with the Mesa Chamber of Commerce for the 19th Annual Mesa Hydration Donation Campaign, a critical summer initiative that aims to collect 500,000 bottles of water and $40,000 in donations to support vulnerable populations in the Valley.
“Drinking water is great. But when your lips are dry by 7 a.m. and your brain is begging for mercy, it’s time to go beyond the bottle,” said Gina Van Luven, owner of Prime IV Hydration & Wellness – Red Mountain in Mesa.
“We’re proud to partner with the Chamber to not only give back but also spread the word that hydration is more than just a glass of water—it’s a key to cognition, energy, and health. And in Arizona, it might just be the key to not spontaneously combusting.”
The annual campaign, which runs now through Sept. 30, funnels water donations through United Food Bank, which then distributes supplies to more than a dozen Valley nonprofits including A New Leaf, Paz de Cristo, and Mesa United Way, according to a press release.
Since 2007, the campaign has distributed more than 7.6 million bottles of water — many to individuals experiencing homelessness or heat-related health risks, the release states.
This year’s campaign coincides with Prime IV’s summer launch of Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT), a wellness option designed to help people maintain balance as the thermostat breaks records. To mark the occasion, Prime IV is also serving as a designated drop-off location for the campaign.
