Olivia Fierro has been delivering broadcast news at Arizona’s Family since 2003, but today Ms. Fierro says he is hanging up the mic to pursue other passions, including joining her husband Tony Boyle at his company Tequila Corrido.
Mr. Boyle is a partner of the locally owned company, which is headquartered in Scottsdale, according to a press release.
Ms. Fierro will become executive vice-president of communications and governance, working to raise brand awareness as Tequila Corrido scales nationally. The former producer and host of the “Olivia’s Book Club Podcast,” downloaded more than 150,000 times, says she’ll get back on the microphone this summer as host of Tequila Corrido’s “It’s The Tequila Talking! Podcast,” the release states.
“Taking a leap into the unknown is exhilarating,” Ms. Fierro said in a prepared statement. “For the last several years, I’ve watched as the team has grown this company with focus, purpose and heart. I’m excited for the opportunities ahead, and as a Latina, I’m proud to have the opportunity to celebrate a spirit that embodies the Mexican American culture I grew up with.”
An EMMY and Edward R. Murrow Award Winner, the former Anchor of “Good Morning Arizona” was named one of Arizona’s ‘Most Respected and Influential Business Leaders’ by AZ Big Media, one of the ‘GREAT48’ by PHOENIX Magazine, and was nominated for an ATHENA Award by the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce.
