Maricopa Community Colleges is announcing Dr. Jess Evans, vice chancellor and chief information officer, has been appointed to the National Applied AI Consortium’s National AI Business Industry Leadership Team.
As a recognized leader in educational technology and Artificial Intelligence innovation, Dr. Evans brings deep expertise in orchestrating large-scale academic and technical initiatives, according to a press release.
“The mission of the board is critical to help provide every opportunity for students to gain valuable knowledge and skills needed in the workforce today,” said Dr. Evans, in a prepared statement. “The partnership forged between industry technology leaders and accomplished faculty is a recipe for professional success for our students.”

As vice chancellor and CIO of the nation’s largest community college system, Dr. Evans brings extensive expertise in strategic technology leadership and plays a vital role in shaping how technology and AI are leveraged to advance learning, streamline operations, and prepare students for the workforce.
