Drunk Shakespeare has extended its boozy and unique run of Romeo & Juliet in Phoenix through Sept. 27.

What started as a summer fling is now turning into a love affair, with more of the irreverent, inebriated take on an iconic tragedy.

Guests can expect a wildly unpredictable night of theatre where one actor takes five shots before attempting to perform Romeo & Juliet with a troupe of sober professionals trying to keep the show on track.

“This show proves you don’t have to be a theatre buff to love Shakespeare especially when there’s cocktails involved and the Capulets are quoting Taylor Swift,” said Producer, David Hudson.

Think Shakespeare meets improv, with a splash of stand up comedy, pop culture references, and plenty of audience interaction. From sword fights and love sonnets to spontaneous dance-offs and more every show is unique, and it’s the most fun you’ll have watching a tragedy.

New performance dates have been added through Sept. 27, with shows running weekly at The Rose Theatre, 455 N. 3rd Street in Phoenix.
