The Arizona Digital Free Press is announcing its expansion into Mesa with the launch of Digital Free Press Mesa.
The new digital news source website aims to provide expert reporting at Mesa City Hall along with local news, politics, business, and philanthropy news relevant to the lives of all Mesa residents.
“We are excited to bring our brand of digital, high-quality journalism to Mesa for free,” said Terrance Thornton, founder of the Arizona Digital Free Press. “Our trio of experienced journalists is committed to providing Mesa residents with the news and information they need to make informed decisions about their community.”
Digital Free Press Mesa is part of the Digital Free Press network, a growing group of free digital news organizations in Arizona. The network is committed to providing high-quality, nonpartisan journalism that is essential for a healthy democracy — not stuck behind a paywall or app-plus service.
The news of the expansion at the Digital Free Press comes following Mesa News Today’s rebranding as Digital Free Press Mesa earlier this year.
The rebranding reflects the company’s commitment to providing high-quality, unbiased journalism in the digital age through a partnership struck with the Phoenix-based Arizona Digital Free Press.
“We are excited to launch Digital Free Press Mesa as the next chapter in our company’s history,” said Jill Adair, owner of Digital Free Press Mesa who serves as chief copy editor at the Arizona Digital Free Press. “This rebranding reflects our commitment to providing our readers with the most up-to-date and relevant news and information, delivered through a variety of digital platforms.”
Digital Free Press expands into Mesa
Digital Free Press Mesa will continue to provide in-depth coverage of local news, politics, and community events, with a focus on Community Updates in the community of Mesa.
The Arizona Digital Free Press operates a news website found HERE, publishes a daily newsletter — The Daily Beat — and provides an app on both Google and Apple platforms. All existing digital products of the Arizona Digital Free Press are free.
“We believe that local news is essential to a healthy democracy,” Mr. Thornton said in a prepared statement. “Our goal is to provide Mesa residents with the information they need to be active and engaged citizens.”
