The inaugural Scottsdale Ferrari Art Week is set for Thursday, March 20 through Sunday, March 23 at WestWorld of Scottsdale.

Serving as Development Director for Scottsdale Ferrari Art Week is Artvest Founder and TEFAF New York Art Fair Co-Founder and former Director, Michael Plummer, who is a longtime industry veteran and the former COO of Christie’s Financial Services, representatives of the event tell the Digital Free Press.

Other industry Art leaders coming together to produce and host the Scottsdale Ferrari Art Week include:

  • Former Armory Show Director, Benjamin Genocchio;
  • Rose Creative founder Joshua Rose,
  • Former Sales and Marketing Director of American Art Collector Amy Gause; and
  • Art Advisor Logan Browning.

“There’s a reason the desert Southwest has attracted and inspired the likes of Georgia O’Keeffe, Max Ernst and Frank Lloyd Wright as well as contemporary land artists James Turrell and Walter de Maria, and continues to inspire the new talent of today such as contemporary indigenous artists,” Mr. Plummer said in a prepared statement. “This, coupled with the fact that the city has a huge concentration of younger wealth looking to learn more about art collecting, as well as one of the nation’s under-appreciated communities of collectors, makes it the ideal setting for such a special event.”

While Scottsdale Ferrari Art Week’s main fair will take place in the expansive, 117,000 square-foot North Hall at WestWorld of Scottsdale, the 4-day celebration will also include a series on-site cultural events, as well as off-site events at the Phoenix Art Museum, the Heard Museum, the Desert Botanical Garden, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West.

Scottsdale Ferrari Art Week coincides with Major League Baseball’s Cactus League Spring Training, giving guests a chance to check out some of the nation’s top teams in action ahead of baseball’s Opening Day.

“Scottsdale has long attracted visitors who enjoy a luxury lifestyle, and a lot of the people who live, work and play here also have an appreciation for the finer things in life,” said Joshua Rose. “This event is a great fit for this community, and it’s a great way to introduce – or reintroduce – the world’s top artists, gallerists and collectors to everything this area and its artists have to offer.”
