Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes joins celebration, delivers proclamation

Hundreds of friends, family and volunteers attended the March 18 GiGi’s Playhouse World Down Syndrome Day event where Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes joined in on the community salute providing a formal proclamation.
GiGi’s Playhouse representatives report the Peoria event was the best attended World Down Syndrome Day event to date with 600 attendees, 30 vendors and about 50 volunteers.
GiGi’s Playhouse is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization and is solely funded by donations. The event, which took place at Rio Vista Park in Peoria, featured a picnic, food trucks, crafts and entertainment as well as information and resource booths.
