Scottsdale Leadership is announcing its 39th leadership class.

Chosen from a wide field of qualified applicants, the 49 new class members represent a strong cross section of our community and join a family of more than 1,400 Scottsdale Leadership alumni, representatives of the leadership organization tell the Digital Free Press.

Selected class members now embark on a nine-month journey focused on the interconnections of community as explored through topics such as Scottsdale history, education and government, public safety, sustainable initiatives, human services, diversity and inclusion, economic development, health and vitality, and arts and culture. In addition, each class of graduates participates in delivering sustainable projects through its ‘Project Lead It Forward’ program.

The community-based projects allow established and emerging leaders to apply classroom learning to real-time projects and to leave a life-long footprint.

“We are committed to providing high-quality leadership training designed to cultivate leadership skills, build empathy, and encourage civil dialogue in a significantly challenging time,” said Dana Close, assistant director of Scottsdale Leadership. “We are also looking forward to creating a lasting and significant impact on our community with service projects.”
