Scottsdale has launched a new Scottsdale Trolley city officials say connect three community service locations: the Scottsdale Food Bank, Granite Reef Senior Center, and Vista del Camino Community Center.

The new route is designed to improve access to critical nutrition and support services for Scottsdale residents—particularly seniors and individuals experiencing food insecurity, city officials say.

The new trolley service runs from 9 a.m. to noon Thursdays and operates on a 30-minute loop with stops at:

•Granite Reef Senior Center (north parking lot)

•Vista del Camino Community Center (existing trolley stop)

•Scottsdale Food Bank, now located at 7601 E. McKellips Road, Building C

The special service route was established to support the recent relocation and expansion of the food bank.

“We wanted to ensure that residents who rely on the Scottsdale Food Bank and do not have access to personal transportation can continue receiving the support they need,” Sue Oh, Scottsdale Human Services manage, said in a prepared statement. “This new trolley route helps remove transportation barriers and strengthens our ability to meet the needs of some of our community’s most vulnerable residents.”

In addition to supporting food bank appointments, the trolley route helps maintain access to the Brown Bag Program, which has transitioned from the Granite Reef Senior Center to the food bank’s new location. This bi-monthly program provides Scottsdale seniors with fresh produce, canned goods, bread, and other nutritious items. The trolley will transport seniors and other participants to and from their food appointments or Brown Bag pickups, ensuring that no one is left without the resources they rely on.

Scottsdale residents in need of a food box should call Vista del Camino at 480-312-2323 to schedule an appointment before visiting the food bank.
