Community members are invited to the Volunteer Summit from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 28, an event designed to connect attendees with local service opportunities.
Hosted in partnership with Scottsdale Community College, the Volunteer Summit will bring together nonprofit organizations that will provide information on current volunteer needs, according to a press release.
The event is intended to support those seeking one‑time service opportunities as well as long‑term involvement.
Attendees can also learn about Volunteer Zone, a platform highlighting volunteer openings throughout the Valley, and take part in presentations and breakout sessions focused on skills and community engagement.
Research indicates that even short periods of volunteer activity—sometimes as little as 16 minutes—can improve mood, reduce stress and enhance overall well‑being. The event encourages residents to explore ways to support local causes while experiencing these benefits.
The summit offers nonprofits the chance to meet potential volunteers in person and build relationships. The event is free and open to the public. Community members, students, families and nonprofit representatives are welcome to attend.
