The Burton Family Foundation is once again awarding a $120,000 grant to the Arizona Housing Fund.
This marks the second time the Foundation has made a gift of this size, reinforcing its commitment to expanding affordable housing options for people experiencing homelessness, Arizona Housing Fund representatives tell the Digital Free Press.
“We are proud to support the Arizona Housing Fund’s mission once again,” said Christy Burton, co-founder and chair of the Burton Family Foundation. “It’s an honor to support the inspired individuals at this fund in their pursuit of reducing Arizona’s homeless population.”
The Arizona Housing Fund, established in 2019, has raised nearly $2.5 million and granted a total of $1.9 million to 11 nonprofits for housing projects to serve Arizonans experiencing homelessness, according to a press release.
To date, AZHF funding has contributed to 646 completed housing units across the state, the release states.
“It is thanks to generous donors like the Burton Family Foundation that we have been able to grant nearly $2 million to 11 nonprofits around the state,” said Arizona Housing Fund Founder Howard Epstein. “While we are typically not the largest funder for a project, our grants are often used to cover final expenses that enable our grant partners to complete construction or renovations and open the doors to individuals and families who have been experiencing homelessness and waiting for housing units to become available.”
