Scottsdale Western Week is happening with Parada Del Sol and Trail’s End Festival serving as the keystone event beginning 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, along Scottsdale Road in Old Town Scottsdale. Scottsdale aficionados say Western Week stokes the embers of the community’s rich heritage and ensures the western legacy glows as brightly as it did a century ago.
Blue Zones Project Scottsdale officials tell the Digital Free Press that parade walkers should arrive at 8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 as the parade is set to begin at 10 a.m. Also, Blue Zones officials say participants:
- Must be able to walk for the duration of the parade route. Click here to view the parade route map.
- Wear Blue Zones Project Scottsdale t-shirt (One will be provided if you don’t already have one)
- ALL ages are welcome (Children must be accompanied by an adult)
The Blue Zones Project Scottsdale is a three-phase program based on principles identified during a 20-year worldwide longevity study commissioned by National Geographic and detailed in the New York Times bestseller, “The Blue Zones: Lessons for Living Longer from the People Who’ve Lived the Longest and The Blue Zones Solution,” by Dan Buettner. In Scottsdale, the Blue Zones Project is lead by Executive Director Sarah Kearney.
