Scottsdale is joining forces this month with Maricopa County to offer a one-stop-shop for job seekers at the Vista del Camino Community Center.
The What to Wear Career Fair, a spring hiring event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Scottsdale’s Vista del Camino Community Center, offers job seekers the opportunity to boost their professional wardrobe for free before meeting an array of Valley employers on-site.
Walk-ins are welcome, but attendees are encouraged to RSVP HERE.
Vista del Camino is at 7700 E. Roosevelt St. in Scottsdale.
All job seekers and those employed who need a wardrobe boost are welcome to come and “shop” through Vista del Camino’s pop-up boutique of gently used professional clothing and accessories.
All items were donated by the community and are available at no cost, including a limited number of personal protective equipment for manual labor and technical positions.
“Many generous community members showed up and donated these items for job seekers in need. We’ve gathered 2,500 pounds worth of items, so far, and we’re expecting more to come in before the event,” Career Services Center Case Worker Sheila Williams said in a prepared statement. “This is a great event that pairs employers with local candidates and helps those candidates look professional for their interviews.”
Employers participating in the event include ABM Industries, Arcadia Homecare, the Arizona Department of Transportation, Banner Health, BMO Harris, the city of Scottsdale, Express Employment Professionals, FedEx Ground, HonorHealth, Ironworkers, Keolis Transit America, LoveSac Furniture, Omni Hotels & Resorts, Pro EM, Scottsdale Police Department, the United States Navy and more. Job seekers should come ready to meet, and potentially interview with, their next employer.
