City Clerk: Get alerts when Scottsdale City Council agendas go live, amended
Staff Reports | Digital Free Press
A new email subscription enables residents to be notified when Scottsdale City Council meeting agendas are posted or amended.
This initiative will enhance transparency and foster greater citizen engagement by providing timely and convenient access to important meeting information, officials at City Hall report.
To sign-up, residents can visit ScottsdaleAZ.gov and search “City Clerk.” Subscribers will receive an email with a link to each City Council meeting agenda when it is posted.
“We are excited to introduce this new service, which will significantly improve timely notification of council meeting agendas,” said Scottsdale City Clerk Ben Lane, whose office will manage the system. “The collaboration between the City Clerk’s Office and the Information Technology staff has been outstanding, and we are grateful for their efforts in making this idea a reality.”
A technical limitation prevented the city from pursuing a City Council agenda notification subscription although the idea had previously been explored by staff, officials there say.
After a recent suggestion from a resident, the issue was revisited and resolved, further demonstrating the city’s commitment to listening and responding to the needs and ideas of its citizens. By implementing this solution, Scottsdale furthers its commitment to transparency by ensuring that residents have easy access to important information.
Of Note: The June 27 City Council Meeting will be the first to use this new system.
