From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, Phoenix nonprofit St. Joseph the Worker is holding its first annual Be the Impact sunset happy hour event atop The Grove, 4300 E. Camelback in Phoenix.
Event admission is $50, with proceeds directly supporting the 501(c)(3) nonprofit’s mission to assist homeless, low-income and other disadvantaged individuals in their efforts to become self-sufficient through quality employment.
During the event, attendees will have the unique opportunity to connect with community leaders and advocates, enjoy a selection of fine beers and wines, indulge in delectable small plates and take in the breathtaking sunset views — all while supporting a good cause.
For $100, guests can also partake in three swings on a state-of-the-art golf simulator for a chance to win Taylor Made Stealth Irons, a Callaway Paradym driver, an Apple Watch or a two-night resort stay at the Arizona Grand Resort and Spa.
“Be the Impact offers a fun, new way to connect with our community, all while championing St. Joseph the Worker’s essential mission,” said St. Joseph the Worker CEO Carrie Masters. “At SJW, 91 cents of every dollar raised goes towards our Workforce Villages and Employment Without Barriers programs. Together, with donors’ steadfast support, we can continue our mission of transforming lives, breaking down employment barriers and creating a brighter future for those in need.”
The Be the Impact happy hour marks a new chapter in SJW’s fundraising endeavors, as it aims to raise $150,000 to propel the nonprofit’s life-changing mission. The event will include two founding members of SJW who will match all donations up to $25,000, effectively tripling the impact of every donation made that evening.
Founded in 1988, St. Joseph The Worker offers free employment services through its Employment Without Barriers Program and transitional housing through its Workforce Villages program. In fiscal year 2022, SJW provided its services to more than 10,000 individuals, a 37% increase over the previous year and the largest number of clients served in its 35-year history.
The organization extends its reach to clients residing in more than 50 ZIP codes across the Valley through its three locations.
The Be the Impact happy hour event is completely funded by SJW’s Impact sponsor, Clayco. Other generous sponsors include Changemaker sponsor, Family CFO, and Trendsetter sponsor, Power Design Inc.
Additionally, Clayco’s Executive Vice President and Residential Business Unit Leader Eric Jaegers will serve as the event chair, ensuring the success of this impactful gathering.
