A part of the mission of the Scottsdale Charros — and its philanthropic arm, The Charro Foundation — is providing vital grant dollars to local qualified nonprofits in Scottsdale and the surrounding areas.
Last week, the Scottsdale Charros presented Florence Crittenton Services of AZ a check for $15,000 that will go toward the care of women in need and to help sustain operations at the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
Specifically, Scottsdale Charros officials report, the gift helps provide hope and healing to vulnerable girls and young women facing physical or sexual victimization, chronic neglect, homelessness, poverty, teen pregnancy, drug abuse or mental instability.
A part of the Florence Crittenton Services is providing young women evidence-based therapy programs as well as housing, healthcare, education, emotional support, and independent living skills for girls, young women and their babies.
Did you know? Florence Crittenton is the second oldest nonprofit in the Arizona, officials there report.
Formed in 1961, the Scottsdale Charros are an all-volunteer, nonprofit group of business and civic leaders committed to supporting education, youth sports and other charitable causes in addition to promoting Scottsdale as the “The West’s Most Western Town.”
The Charro Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports Scottsdale Schools and the community in a variety of ways, including promoting education through scholarships and other educational programming, as well as youth activities, sports and cultural enrichment in our community.
