The Rob Dollar Foundation is announcing the 8th Annual Rob Dollar Memorial Ride, which is taking place on Sunday, Oct. 27, at South Mountain Regional Park.
This community event, running from 7:15 a.m. until noon, invites cyclists of all skill levels to honor Rob Dollar’s legacy and support the foundation’s mission to promote cycling safety in Arizona.
Cost is $19. South Mountain Regional Park is at 10919 S. Central Ave. in Phoenix.
All proceeds from the ride will support the Rob Dollar Foundation’s work with city and state officials to develop a safer cycling community for riders of all types.
Participants can enjoy a self-paced ride to the top of South Mountain or take on the route to the San Juan Lookout. Cyclists are welcome to join from anywhere in the Vslkey or drive in and park at the event.
“We look forward to seeing the community unite once again in Rob’s honor to further our mission of creating safer streets for all cyclists,” said John Dollar, founder of the Rob Dollar Foundation. “This event is a chance to ride in memory of Rob and to support the broader goal of cycling safety.”
The official ride will kick off at 7:30 a.m., with supporters leading the group after a brief address by John Dollar and the national anthem.
After the ride, attendees are encouraged to visit Hundred Mile Brewing Co. for lunch or a beer. The Rob Dollar Foundation leadership team will be on site starting at 2 p.m.
Of Note: In addition to Sunday’s ride, the weekend festivities will begin with a Rob Dollar Foundation Kick-off Party at Hundred Mile Brewing Co., 690 N Scottsdale Road in Tempe from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25.
