Paul Molina creates ‘Canaly-oop’ in salute to NCAA Final Four

Scottsdale dignitaries and members of the 2024 NCAA Final Four local host committee gathered at the Waterfront Bridge in Old Town Tuesday, March 26, to celebrate the public art installation of “Canaly-oop” art piece by Paul Molina.
Coined the ‘Cactus Basketball Hoop – Canaly-oop’ installation, Scottsdale officials tell the Digital Free Press the installation can be found along the Waterfront Bridge at 7124 E. Stetson Drive in Old Town.
“Scottsdale is the ideal host city for the NCAA Final Four championship,” said Scottsdale Mayor David Ortega during the March 26 installation.
“Here at the waterfront bridge in Old Town, fans can “selfie” with the “Canaly-oop” art piece by Paul Molina. His amazing sculpture captures the southwest motifs, his indigenous heritage and western flair. Fans here for the first time tell me Scottsdale is like no other place in the world — with 960 plus restaurants, 51 golf courses, and one-of-a-kind venues and shops.”
The 2024 NCAA Men’s Final Four is hosted this year at State Farm Stadium in Phoenix with the National Semifinals being played April 6 and the National Championship tipping off on April 8.
