Protect and Preserve Scottsdale Task Force issues resident questionnaire

The Protect and Preserve Scottsdale Task Force — a group of nine people appointed by the City Council to develop financial strategy recommendations to protect open spaces and promote quality of life — is asking residents to participate in a questionnaire to measure views on certain topics.

The questionnaire allows residents to rate their overall quality of life and provide specific feedback about open spaces, parks and recreational spaces, public safety, park maintenance, recreation funding and the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, according to a press release.

The online feedback follows a survey provided to randomly selected households, the release states.

Open through Sunday, Nov. 19, the questionnaire takes less than 10 minutes to complete and is an important part of the task force’s directive. The questionnaire is available in English and Spanish.

A voter approved 0.2% sales tax for preserve land acquisition will expire in 2025. In light of that, the group has studied aspects necessary to maintain the city’s open spaces, such as the McDowell Sonoran Preserve and Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt. The team began work in February.

The public is invited to attend task force meetings and provide input. See specific dates and review past agendas at ScottsdaleAZ.gov, search “Protect and Preserve.”

The city regularly seeks resident input via questionnaires, polls and online feedback. Scottsdale’s online platform – Polco – allows participants to “opt-in” to future opportunities.

More than 6,000 Scottsdale residents are providing their input via our Polco community – join your neighbors and let us know what you think. Learn more at ScottsdaleAZ.gov, search “get involved.”
