PHX Beer Co. to offer portion of proceeds from Zanjero IPA to AZ Water

PHX Beer Co. is teaming up with the AZ Water Association to bring awareness to Arizona’s current water supply.
Starting in November, a portion of annual proceeds from PHX Beer Co.’s Zanjero Juicy Hazy IPA will be donated to the AZ Water Association.
PHX Beer Co. created the IPA as a nod to the Zanjeros in Arizona who travel near and far opening canals to ensure water flows out of faucets and grows crops, according to a press release.
“We are looking forward to this partnership,” said Alan Forrest, president-elect of AZ Water Association. “It is crucial to improve the public’s understanding of how important managing our water resources is to the state.”
All the money raised for the AZ Water Association will be directed to operator programs and training. To maintain their licensure in Arizona, operators are required to obtain 10 hours of training per year. When an operator has numerous licenses, this can become a financial burden.
There will also be “in-kind” donations throughout the year given to the AZ Water Association through hosted events by PHX Beer Co.
“Our goal is to spotlight what water operators, managers and engineers do so the public has a better appreciation of how dedicated AZ Water is to their job,” said Adam Wojick, brewery director at PHX Beer Co. “We want to assist Arizona’s water environment in any way we can.”
The beer will be available at PHX Beer Co.’s Taproom and Brewery, 3002 E. Washington St. and its Scottsdale location, 8300 N. Hayden Road.
