Mesa Public Library is collecting Valentine’s cards to deliver to Mesa’s homebound and assisted living residents.
For the seventh year, the library will host card-making events to encourage the community to spread love and appreciation during February. Supplies will be provided, and attendees can keep the valentines they create or donate them to be distributed.
“One small kind gesture can brighten someone’s day,” said Mesa Library Director Polly Bonnett. “Mesa Library Valentine’s Day card drive is one way to tell our seniors that we care about them. I want to invite everyone to join us in making or donating cards.”
The Valentine-making sessions will take place at our full-service locations from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the following dates:
- Tuesday, Feb. 4, at the Red Mountain Library, 635 N. Power Road
- Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the Dobson Ranch Library, 2425 S. Dobson Road
- Thursday, Feb. 6, at the Main Library, 64 E. First St.
Mesa Library encourages residents unable to participate in the card-making sessions to make their own at home or buy Valentines and bring them to the Main, Dobson, and Red Mountain locations from Monday, Feb. 3 through Saturday, Feb. 8.
Last year, the library distributed 2,275 Valentines to 37 senior facilities and homebound residents, according to officials.
